Custom Synthesis & Specialty Blends

Custom Synthesis & Specialty Blends

From Chemistry Concept to Commercial Ingredient

Overview

At Reliant Chemical, we work with qualified manufacturing partners to develop custom specialty ingredients, blends and application-specific solutions for customers who need something beyond a standard catalog product.

Our strongest capabilities span siloxane chemistry, polyether chemistry and botanical extracts, allowing us to develop functional ingredients around a customer's desired performance, formulation, application and commercial requirements.

Whether you need a modified silicone surfactant, a tailored polyether, a botanical extract standardized to a specific active, or a blend combining multiple functional ingredients, we can help move the project from initial concept through sample evaluation and commercial supply.

Custom Blends

Combine multiple technologies into one solution. Not every formulation challenge requires a new molecule. Often, the best solution is a carefully designed blend of proven ingredients.

Our agricultural portfolio already includes custom multi-micronutrient chelate blends designed for comprehensive crop nutrition.

  • Performance requirements Wetting, spreading, dispersion, defoaming, chelation, nutrient delivery, botanical activity, surface modification.
  • Formulation requirements Water-based systems, concentrates, suspensions, emulsions, solvent-containing systems, agricultural sprays, personal care and industrial formulations.
  • Commercial requirements Target active content, cost-in-use, packaging format, raw-material availability, regional supply and private-label requirements.

How Our Custom Development Process Works

We start with the application and performance objective, rather than simply selecting a chemistry.

1. Define the Requirement

We start with the application and performance objective, rather than simply selecting a chemistry.

Typical inputs include: target application, desired performance, existing formulation, required active content, pH range, compatibility requirements, regulatory or documentation requirements, and target cost.

2. Chemistry & Manufacturing Partner Selection

We identify the appropriate chemistry and work with qualified manufacturing partners capable of producing the required material or blend.

3. Laboratory Samples

Initial samples are developed for customer evaluation, allowing formulation performance to be assessed under real application conditions.

4. Optimization

Based on testing, the chemistry, composition or blend can be adjusted to optimize performance, stability, compatibility and cost-in-use.

5. Scale-Up & Commercial Supply

Once the formulation meets the agreed requirements, we support scale-up and transition to commercial production and supply.

Why Work With Reliant Chemical?

Technical Understanding

We bridge chemistry and formulation requirements, helping translate an application problem into a practical ingredient solution.

Global Manufacturing Network

Our global sourcing network provides access to qualified manufacturing capabilities and specialty chemistry.

Application-Focused Development

We focus on what the ingredient needs to do in the customer’s formulation, not simply its chemical description.

North American Supply

Commercial products can be supplied into North America with practical logistics and packaging options.

From Standard to Custom

A project can begin with an existing product and evolve toward a modified grade, custom blend or entirely new specification.

Commercially Practical

We consider performance alongside cost-in-use, scalability, supply reliability and commercial viability.

Next Step

Have a Chemistry Challenge?

Tell us what you need to achieve. If you have a target performance, competitor product, formulation problem or ingredient specification, our team can evaluate potential chemistry and manufacturing routes. You don’t necessarily need to know the exact chemistry. Tell us: what does the ingredient need to do? We’ll help identify the chemistry, formulation approach and manufacturing path to get there.
