The Natural Wrinkle Care

✓ INCI

Acmella Oleracea Extract

✓ Bioactive content

60% Spilanthol by HPLC

Acmella Oleracea, often called the “toothache plant” or “jambu,” originates from the amazon region of Brazil, where it has been cultivated and valued for centuries. In traditional Brazilian culture, its leaves and flowers were used both as A culinary ingredient—famed for the tingling sensation they impart to dishes—and as A natural remedy. Indigenous communities chewed the flower heads to relieve toothaches and oral discomfort, while also applying preparations of the plant to soothe inflammation, reduce pain, and support general wellness. Today, these ethnobotanical practices form the basis for its modern recognition: in cosmetics, spilanthol extracted from Acmella Oleracea is prized as A natural wrinkle-smoothing and hydrating active, while in pharmacological research it has demonstrated promising antioxidant, anti- inflammatory, and analgesic properties. This unique bridge between traditional wisdom and modern science has established Acmella Oleracea as both A cultural heritage plant and A cutting-edge bioactive for beauty and health.

Cosmetic Benefits

Anti-Wrinkle

Spilanthol can be applied topically or subcutaneously to treat wrinkles. It works by inhibiting contractions in the facial muscles. It can be used as an alternative to Botox.

Skin Hydration

Spilanthol increases the production of hyaluronic acid, which helps the skin retain moisture. It can improve skin texture and reduce dryness.

Typical properties and specifications

Antioxidant & Anti-Inflammatory

Spilanthol can help protect the skin from damage caused by pollution and UV rays. It is used to reduce redness, irritation, and inflammation in the skin.

Oral Care

It is used in oral care products due to its natural analgesic properties, meaning it can provide a numbing effect, promote saliva production, and reduce gum inflammation, making it beneficial for relieving toothaches, minor mouth ulcers, and oral pain.

Formulation Guidelines

✓ Spilanthol is lipophilic, best dissolved in: Oils (jojoba, squalane, caprylic/capric triglycerides)Silicone oils (dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane). It can also be incorporated into emulsions (O/W or W/O) if pre-dissolved in the oil phase. Pre-dissolve Spilanthol in the oil phase for even distribution.

✓ Avoid direct addition to water-based phases unless using a solubilizer. Maintain pH 5–7 for stability and skin compatibility.

✓ Keep below 40°C during formulation to preserve activity.

✓ Store final products in opaque, airtight containers to reduce oxidation.

✓ Add antioxidants to prolong shelf life.

Use levels, packaging, and storage

✓ Conduct patch testing for sensitive skin areas, especially eye or facial products.
