Key Benefits
performance in mildly acidic through strongly
alkaline systems.
formulation and industrial processing conditions.
Physical & Chemical Properties
GLDA 47% appears as a slightly
yellow, transparent liquid with
excellent water solubility. It remains
stable in both acidic and alkaline
environments, making it highly
versatile in formulation.
Typical Properties:
Its high solubility allows formulation of concentrated systems,
even at low pH, where many traditional chelants fail.
Product Overview
GLDA 47% Liquid (tetrasodium glutamate diacetate) is a next-generation, biodegradable chelating agent
designed to deliver high performance across a wide pH range. Derived from natural amino acids, GLDA
combines strong metal binding capability with an excellent environmental profile, making it a preferred
alternative to traditional chelants such as EDTA and NTA. It is highly soluble, stable in both acidic and
alkaline systems, and enables superior formulation flexibility across cleaning, agriculture, and industrial
applications.
Chemical Identity
GLDA (L-glutamic acid N,N-diacetic acid, tetrasodium salt) is
a tetrafunctional aminopolycarboxylate chelating agent.
Its structure contains four carboxylate groups and one nitrogen
center, allowing it to form stable complexes with both divalent
and trivalent metal ions.

Cleaning & Detergents
GLDA enhances cleaning performance by binding hardness ions
and preventing scale formation. It improves surfactant efficiency
and ensures better soil removal.
Laundry
GLDA acts as a water softener and improves detergent efficiency.
Agriculture (Micronutrients)
GLDA keeps micronutrients soluble and plant-available across a
wide pH range.
Water Treatment
GLDA prevents scaling and maintains system efficiency.
